What is on this checklist
White elephant: the usual rules
- Everyone brings one wrapped gift at the agreed price
- Draw numbers to set the order
- Player 1 opens a gift from the pile
- Each next player opens a new gift or steals one already opened
- Anyone who is robbed picks again: open or steal
- A gift can be stolen 3 times, then it’s locked
- No stealing back the gift just taken from you
- Player 1 gets one last swap at the end
Secret Santa: organiser checklist
- Set the budget and say it out loud
- Pick a date to swap gifts
- Hand out the questionnaire
- Draw names (or use an app)
- Check nobody drew themselves or their partner
- Send a reminder a week before
- Have one spare gift in case someone forgets
- Reveal who was whose Santa (or don’t)
